Job Title:Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Objective
Supervise day-to-day operations for all maintenance, repair and upkeep for The Retreat Center assets, to include, but not limited to, golf course, land and marine vehicles, tools, equipment, ground maintenance machinery, cabins, buildings, ponds, spa, pool, docks, boat slips and landscape, while keeping focus on The Retreat Center LLC. vision of being a movement for all people to discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and support for the facility maintenance associates
- Oversee the day-to-day operations for the Facilities Maintenance Ministry
- Oversee all building systems to include the maintenance of all mechanical, electrical and fire/life safety systems
- Direct the assignment, executionand prioritization of all facility maintenance tasks based on a documented schedule that meets or exceeds expectations, to include golf course upkeep
- Manage the facility maintenance staff schedules and monitor work progress
- Perform building repairs and remodels as needed
- Assist the Maintenance Director in creating and maintaining the facility management annual budget
- Ensure compliance with all environmental/safety regulations
- Recruit, train and minister to serve staff and ensure they are being utilized and supported
- Provide the Maintenance Director with essential reports, trends and goals
- Skillfully manage all areas of the Facilities and Maintenance Ministry in the absence of the Maintenance Director
- Prove capable of assuming the role of full time Maintenance Director if needed
- Support after-hours events as needed
- Any other duties that may be assigned

Education and Experience
- Five years of relevant work experience
- Five years of experience operating heavy equipment and machinery
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to skillfully conduct day-to-day operations for all responsibilities within the facilities Maintenance Ministry

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday thru Friday, 8:30a-5pm. During scheduled events and gatherings, work hours and days may vary, to include weekends and after hours. Flexibility is a must.
The church has several big events, (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of Eleven22. These events are mandatory for all staff to be in attendance and may vary, depending on the vision cast for the current year.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional environment. This role routinely uses industry standard housekeeping products, cleaning solutions and equipment. In addition, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to an outdoor environment on 3,500 acres of South Georgia coastal woodlands, to include intercostal waterways, swamps and dense forests. Encounters with various wildlife (feral hogs, deer, snakes, alligators, spiders, ticks, mosquitos and other insects) are common.
Physical Demands
This role requires a mixture of physical demands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, bend, kneel or crouch. The employee must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time (up to eight hours) and have the ability to push/pull up to 25 pounds. Must be able to lift items of up to 25 pounds, bend and stand, load and unload laundry apparatuses. Extreme summer heat as well as cold, wet winters are expected.
Ministerial Exception
The ministerial exception furthers the purposes of the Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses of the First Amendment by barring legal claims against church bodies by staff members who perform religious functions. All church pastors are subject to the exception, but a formal ministerial credential is not required. While there is no rigid formula to determine other church staff members that qualify, various factors are considered to determine which staff members are subject to the ministerial exception (please see handbook).
