About the role
As a Youth Pastor, this is your opportunity to oversee and grow all Youth (Years 6–12) ministries and develop new youth initiatives aligned with the Corps vision and The Salvation Army mission.
Reporting to the Corp Officer, this is a permanent, full-time role, located in Oakden, SA.
How you will make an impact
- Oversee and lead all Youth (Years 6–12) ministries, including programs across Fridays, weekends, and Sundays
- Lead and develop the Rev Youth Leadership Team, including recruiting, training, and supporting leaders and volunteers
- Create engaging, safe, and discipleship-focused environments that build community and spiritual growth
- Communicate effectively with youth, parents, and staff, and manage transitions into and out of Youth ministry
- Develop partnerships with local schools, community groups, and broader Salvation Army networks
- Provide pastoral care, oversee operations (budget, records, compliance), and contribute to wider Corps leadership and activities
What you will bring
- 2-3+ years’ experience in Youth Ministries
- Sound level of computer literacy
- Strong relational skills
- Demonstrated experience practicing and promoting Christian values as a follower of Jesus
- Driver’s licence
- An ability to offer pastoral assistance and have the ability to offer prayer and explain the Christian gospel
- An understanding of and empathy with the Christian faith, values and ethos of The Salvation Army
- A national police record check is required
- A current Working with Children’s Check is Require
