Position Summary
The Missions Pastor serves as the champion of evangelism and outreach at Brown Missionary Baptist Church. This leader helps the church share the love of Christ both locally and globally through service, missions, and witness.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary champion for evangelism across all church ministries.
- Lead and model personal evangelism, helping members share their faith with confidence and compassion.
- Develop and oversee evangelism strategies, events, and initiatives that help people connect to Christ.
- Equip ministries to integrate evangelism and outreach into their ongoing work.
- Support the church's "Go Everywhere" strategy by developing local, regional, national, and global opportunities for engagement.
- Work with the GoMAD Team to create resources and training materials that make evangelism accessible to all members.
- Lead Brown's missions strategy, reaching people locally, nationally, and globally.
- Oversee coordination of mission trips, outreach projects, and service experiences.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, church plants, and ministry partners.
- Recruit, prepare, and send members on short-term and long-term mission experiences.
- Support the spiritual growth of those called to missions through prayer, training, and mentoring.
- Oversee church planting efforts and community-based outreach initiatives.
- Work closely with leadership to ensure all mission and evangelism efforts align with the church's discipleship pathway.
- Collaborate with ministry leaders, departments, and small groups to integrate a missional mindset across the church.
- Provide coaching, resources, and encouragement to ministry leaders in developing outreach opportunities.
- Support strategic planning for the church's overall discipleship and outreach efforts.
- Maintain and manage the missions budget and ensure good stewardship of funds and resources.
- Supervise staff or volunteer leaders assigned to the Missions Ministry, promoting teamwork, communication, and accountability.

Qualifications
- A clear call from God to Christian ministry and a heart for missions and evangelism.
- A mature follower of Jesus Christ who lives out the Fruits of the Spirit and practices spiritual disciplines such as prayer, worship, and Bible study.
- Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Brown Missionary Baptist Church.
- Experience in missions, community outreach, or evangelism leadership preferred.
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Ability to work well with ministry leaders, volunteers, and community partners.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Work may occur in office, ministry, worship, campus, community, or event environments depending on the role.
- Evening, weekend, holiday, and special-event availability may be required.

Performance Review Criteria
- Annual evaluation based on KPIs, role responsibilities, leadership feedback, ministry impact, policy compliance, and demonstration of core competencies.
