The Campus Pastor is the spiritual and strategic leader of aBattleCreekChurch campus, responsible for creating a healthy, thriving ministry environment where people can take next steps in their journeys with Christ. This role combines pastoral leadership, team development, and operational oversight to ensure the campus is aligned with the mission, vision, and values ofBattleCreekChurch.By shepherding people, developing leaders, and leading the campus with excellence, the Campus Pastor helps glorify God by creating opportunities for all people, all ages, all the time to advance in their journey with Christ.
Your Day-to-Day
While eachBattleCreekcampus has its own unique rhythms and needs, the role of the Campus Pastorremainscentered on three key areas of leadership: pastoral care, operational awareness, and team building and vision casting.
Pastoral Care
- Provide spiritual and organizational leadership by leading a team of ministry leaders and shepherding both staff and the congregationto take next steps in theirjourneyswith Christ
- Serve as the primary Sunday communicator on stage for the campus,including announcements,giving, prayer, and call to salvation
- Teachapproximately 2-5times per year withadditionalteaching opportunities at campus events and special gatherings
Team Building & Vision Casting
- Responsible for the leadership and development of ministry staff,fosteringspiritual growth, leadership capacity, and ministry effectiveness through intentional mentoringand encouragement
- Cultivate team culture by providing clear expectations, consistent coaching, performance conversations, and support forpersonal and spiritual growth
- Translate church-wide vision into actionable campus initiatives, equipping staff and ministry leaders to implement strategies that support the mission of helping people advance in their journeys with Christ
Operational Awareness
- Partner withchurch leadership and central support teams to ensure ministries are aligned, resources areleveragedeffectively, and standards of excellence are consistently upheld acrosseach campus
- Responsible forstewardship ofcampus budgets toalign financial resources with strategic priorities ofBattleCreekChurchand itsmission
- Establish clear, mission-driven goals for the campus and ministry teams, providing direction, accountability, and measurable outcomes that advance the church'smission
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of employment practices and organizational policies,partneringwith Human Resources to make informed decisions, foster a healthy work environment, and help minimize organizational risk
WhatWe’reLooking For
The must-haves for this role:
Education & Experience:Weare looking forsomeonewith aBachelor’sdegree and a Seminarydegree or equivalent in related discipline, preferred (but it is not a requirement)and atleast 5 years’ experience.Having experience in a multi-site environment is an added plus!

Depending on the role, you might find yourself in an office, on stage, out in the community, or working behind the scenes. Evening and weekend hours may berequired—it’sall part of ministry life!
This role is primarily office-based but may involve some physical activity, including standing, lifting (up to 20 pounds), kneeling, setting up equipment, orprepping forevents—sometimes even late at night.Don’tworry;we’llensure you know what to expect!
