Objective: The Student Pastor provides spiritual leadership and oversight for campus middle school and high school ministries. This role exists to help students know Christ personally, grow in their faith, and live missionally within their schools, families, and communities. This role includes training up leaders and volunteers by equipping, empowering, and encouraging them, as well as partnering with parents.
Essential Job Functions:
Teach biblical and relevant messages that engage students with the truth of God’s Word
Recruit, equip, empower, and encourage volunteer leaders to become the driving force of the ministry
Build strong partnerships with parents, providing tools to support and disciple their students at home
Create opportunities for students to encounter Christ, grow in community, and serve on mission
Help plan and execute camps, conferences, and other major ministry events
Collaborate with a team to ensure Compass Students supports the larger mission of the church
Manage ministry communication, logistics, and budget with excellence and accountability
Follow through on pastoral care and mandatory reporting
Other Responsibilities:
Model a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with biblical leadership
Demonstrate humility, integrity, and a servant-hearted approach to ministry
Fully engage in church leadership development efforts
Uphold all church safety policies, child protection standards, and background screening requirements
Work Schedule:
Full-Time, 40 hours
Weekend services: per published campus schedule
Monday-Thursday: hours flexible
QualificationsEducation:
High School Degree (required)
Bachelors degree in theology, biblical studies, Christian education, or a related field (preferred)
Experience:
3-5 years experience in student ministry leadership (preferred)
Proven history in recruiting and leading volunteer teams
Highly organized with a track record of effectively managing events, programs, or organizational administration
Passionate about discipling students and developing leaders
Strong communication and teaching skills with both students and adults.
Relational and approachable, with the ability to connect across diverse backgrounds
