Job Position– Pastor, Missions & Outreach - OKC
(Position Description - full-time, salaried, exempt, ministry, and at-will)
Location – Oklahoma City
General Scope of Position
The Pastor, Missions & Outreach – OKC, will be responsible for planning, promoting, and implementing CMM Global and Local Missions & Outreach efforts at the OKC location. The goal is to create opportunities for Crossings (OKC) congregants to be a Voice of Hope by living courageously, joining in on God’s redemptive work in the world, and being Known by Love through the provision of opportunities to relationally evangelize.
Organizational Relationships
Reports to Crossings Community Church OKC Location Pastor(s). This role will work collaboratively and interact regularly with the Central Missions Ministry to support Global and Local missions at OKC. They will work closely with various vendors, CCC staff and volunteers across the various departments and ministries, venues, and campuses, as well with partners of Crossings to accomplish the goals and mission of Crossings’ and its ministries.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Oversee implementation of Global and Local Missions efforts for the OKC location in collaboration with Central Missions Ministry (CMM) and the Global and Local Missions Fixed, Flex, Free strategy.
- Participate in planning meetings with CMM, other Crossings locations to assist promotion of the needs of Crossings led Ministries (Local and Global).
- Local Ministry Partners, Local Ministry Friends, etc.
- Global Missions Partners and Missionaries, International Ministries and Global Ministry Friends.
- Provide a suggested budget for location specific efforts with Crossings Family Advocacy Ministry (FAM), Local Schools, Local Missions Friends, Global Partner(s), Missionaries, and Global Ministry Friends.
- Participate in All-Location CMM meetings to assist with coordination, promotion, and implementation of church-wide missions and outreach endeavors.
- Recruit, develop, equip, empower volunteers for Missions Ministries.
- Assist with volunteer recruitment and promotion, including: interviewing, training, and implementation, and follow-up for both Global and Local missions.
- Share general pastoral duties as a pastor at Crossings.
- Partner with Location Pastor(s) and other ministry departments to create opportunities for Global and Local missions’ engagement for Kids, Students, Young Adult, Sunday School classes, Wednesday nights and other discipleship-related ministries.
- Serve as the local liaison for planning and implementation of location-wide volunteer events in collaboration with CMM and other locations (included but not limited to): Hope is Alive, Run 4 Hope, Wings Fall Festival, Feed the Hunger, and Walk4Water4.
- Communicate volunteer needs, ministry updates, etc. with the congregation (through newsletters, communications, Sunday School classes, weekly’s).
- Participate in planning for various Special Missions events throughout the year.
- Assist in maintaining the highest possible ministry standards and professional ethics in accordance with the goals, Purpose Statement, and Core Values of Crossings Community Church.
- Support the leadership of CCC, contributing to the spirit of unity among the staff and congregation.
- Represent Crossings in civic and ministry-related efforts as approved or requested.
- Perform any other duties or tasks to accomplish responsibilities associated with this position or as may be needed or assigned to fulfill the needs, mission and goals of Crossings’ ministries.
Local Missions Responsibilities/Duties
- Coordinate volunteer efforts with the Local School Partners for OKC.
- Maintain close working relationships with the leadership at the Local School Partners to understand the needs of each school and develop supportive programs.
- Organize and coordinate the Christmas Missions Market with the CMM and other departments.
- Coordinate the promotion and volunteer recruitment for the Family Advocacy Ministry (FAM) i.e. Safe Families, CarePortal, Chosen & Care Communities, including: interviewing, training, implementation and follow-up.
Global Missions Responsibilities/Duties
- Coordinate volunteer efforts with international students, refugees, and the local foreign-born community for OKC (airport transport, orientation events, special events and activities, CRISP, short-term hosting, and discipleship-related ministries).
- Maintain close working relationships with leadership at local universities with international student ministries to understand the needs of each school and volunteer opportunities.
- Collaborate with CMM Global Missions in the promotion and participant recruitment for designated domestic and international mission trips.
- Collaborate with CMM Global Missions to provide education training for cross-cultural ministry and a biblical understanding of missiology.
- Maintain relationships with Ministry Friends, providing volunteer opportunities, support and encourage as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Exhibit a passion to walk with people in their faith development.
- Be a proven and effective leader in the areas of responsibility attached to this position.
- A multi-tasking team player with high energy, strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
- Possess a current unrestricted driver’s license.
- Sensitivity and understanding of cross-cultural ministry and demonstrated experience spent serving across socio-economic boundaries and collaborating with diverse groups of people.
- Character traits include forward thinking, self-directed, teachable spirit, servant’s heart, organized, and multitasker while preparing in a deadline intensive environment.
- Competent in MS Office products, Google and Adobe Suites.
Physical & Other Requirements for Position
- Be able to walk a long distance (up to a quarter of a mile); and be able to lift and carry 25-35
lbs. parcels for distances of up to 500 feet.
- Able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Possess a current unrestricted driver’s license.
- This is a safety sensitive position where the employee holding this position has the responsibility of his/her own safety and the safety of others including minors.

Pastoral Requirements
- Understand and support Crossings Statement of Faith, Vision, Goals, Ministries, and Core Values.
- Perform pastoral duties as assigned or needed.
- Be open to learning about and embrace the core principles and values of Crossings ministries and its Wesleyan roots.
- Be credentialed by Church of God.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience in campus ministry, leadership development and staff management.
- Attends Crossings on a consistent basis to understand culture, mission and vision.
- Ministry training/education and/or the desire to become an ordained pastor.
- Continued education by reading articles, periodicals, and books as it relates to deepening the understanding of missiology and current practices and trends.
