Big Win: A servant leader who leads in Special Needs at Liquid to make “a place at the King’s table” for kids with special needs by supporting the Sunday Buddy Program, creating inclusion curriculum, and assisting with respite events.
The Liquid Family Central Inclusion Coordinator serves under the Special Needs Pastor (SNP) on the Ground War Team. A full time position, the schedule is generally Sunday-Thursday for a total of 40 hours per week. This position is Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Responsibilities
The Liquid Family Central Inclusion Coordinator will support the Special Needs ministry system which includes the following:
Champion opportunities for inclusion for infants through 8th grade in the Liquid Family environment
Supports inclusion efforts in the Liquid Family environment by supporting Liquid Family Staff with best practices in the implementation of inclusion on Sundays.
Creates weekly inclusion curriculum for all phases and stages in Liquid Family in partnership with the Liquid Family Curriculum Team (with accessibility as a baseline)
Develops inclusion materials to be used by Liquid Family Coordinators at the campus
Provides support, tips, and resources to Liquid Family staff regarding special needs
Provides Support to LF Campus Staff for Baptism of Kids with Special Needs
Supports the LF staff at each campus with specific elements of SN: the JV/SN program, 8th grade transition program, New Here family best practices, etc.
Supports relationships with Liquid Family staff at the campus
Supports campus staff in care and communication with parents (in the Special Needs Program) when necessary
Provides training and equipping for Buddies at the campuses in partnership with the SNP
Assists in staff training in partnership with the SNP
Be available to visit campuses on Sundays to support SN programming - coordinate centrally with SNP
Attend Meetings: Liquid Family System Meeting, Liquid Family Central Team, Special Needs Team, All Staff, and others as required
Administrative work to support inclusion on Sundays, Respite Care, and Buddy/Staff Trainings
Assist in planning and executing Respite Events as part of the Special Needs Team
Other duties as assigned
Leadership Development
Provides indirect oversight to Family & Inclusion Coordinators at each Campus.
Collaborate and strategize with Liquid Family and Special Needs Pastors on the Family & Special Needs Programs at each campus, and work on developing leaders in these areas.
Oversee and support volunteer leadership development led by Coordinators.
Delegate tasks to the Family Team Coordinator and provide support to ensure program efficiency and proficiency.
Assist the Curriculum team by providing feedback on best practices for writing inclusive curriculum.
Make self-leadership a regular part of your week. Keep abreast of what is current & happening in the world of Special Needs Ministry through blogs, podcasts, leadership books, and networking.
Event and Launch Support
Support Volunteer Appreciation initiatives.
Support special services for Outreach Events and Special Services (Christmas Eve, Kings and Queens Prom, Parents’ Night Out, Easter, Dream Team Expo, etc.)
Campus Launch - support as requested by SNP
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Experience - 3-5 years experience working in the field of Special Needs
Technical Skills - Proficiency in Google applications and ability to learn new digital tools
Communication Skills - excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong management and leadership skills
Experience in curriculum writing and implementation
Strategic planning abilities
Relationally gifted, with a heart for people
Highly organized, able to manage multiple responsibilities
Preferences - a proven leader with successful church staff experience
