Position Overview
Southall Church is a healthy, multiplying church in Franklin, TN with a vision to bring the life of Jesus to our families, neighbors and nations. We are seeking a strategic, highly organized, and collaborative Communications Director to help lead and coordinate communication across the life of our church.
This role will help ensure that Southall communicates clearly, consistently, and effectively as we continue to grow and prepare for future multi-campus expansion.
Role Summary
The Communications Lead provides strategic oversight and operational leadership for church-wide communications. This role partners closely with ministry leaders and the creative team to align messaging, coordinate campaigns, and ensure that communication across all ministries reflects the mission, culture, and voice of Southall Church.
This role helps translate vision into clear communication strategies while building systems that allow ministries to communicate effectively and reach people both inside and outside the church.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and coordination for church-wide communication initiatives, ensuring messaging aligns with Southall’s mission and vision.
- Partner with ministry leaders to develop clear communication strategies for events, initiatives, and ministry campaigns.
- Oversee the planning and coordination of major church-wide communication efforts including sermon series, seasonal initiatives, and key ministry events.
- Maintain and manage a centralized communications calendar that aligns weekend services, ministry events, email communication, social media, and promotional campaigns.
- Provide guidance and support to ministries on communication planning, messaging clarity, and effective use of communication channels.
- Oversee email communication strategy and scheduling to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment across the church.
- Coordinate website updates, event registrations, and landing pages in collaboration with the creative team and ministry leaders.
- Oversee Southall’s ongoing digital marketing efforts, including the Google Ad Grant, search and social advertising, and other outreach campaigns, ensuring they effectively support church initiatives and help reach new families in our community.
- Work closely with the Media & Graphic Designer to align messaging across digital platforms and social media.
- Develop and oversee communication-related volunteer teams, helping recruit, train, and care for volunteers serving in areas such as photography, video, and creative support.
- Coordinate vendors and print materials when needed for communications or marketing projects.
- Help develop communication systems and frameworks that will support future campus expansion and long-term growth.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

SCHEDULE: Sunday - Thursday
HOURS: 40 (must be available for special events, church meetings, etc)

STAFF LEVEL: Lead: reports to the Creative Arts Director
