The Kid’s Quest Director provides direction and oversight for the entire Kids Quest ministry at McLean Bible Church (infant–5th grade) at the Arlington location. McLean Bible Church (MBC) offers full children’s programming for all Sunday morning services.
The Kids Quest Director will also provide interim direction and oversight to our middle school ministry (The Rock) at Mclean Bible Church (6th-8th grade) at the Arlington location.
The Kid’s Quest Director provides leadership, training, support, and oversight to all Kids Quest staff and volunteers. This role works closely with the Location Pastor and is responsible for the implementation and development of programming that supports the spiritual formation of children and equips parents to fulfill their calling as the primary spiritual leaders of their children.
Duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions)
The following items describe some of the ways this individual will accomplish this task:
- Living an exemplary Christian life by pursuing time in God’s word daily, Scripture memory, and opportunities to share their faith
- Provide vision, strategy, & development for all Children’s Ministry environments (birth – 8th grade)
- Provide leadership, direction and training for all Children’s Ministry staff and volunteers
- Review, edit and oversee the implementation of all curriculum for the teaching environments
- Recruit and oversee all volunteers providing leadership, training, and appreciation
- Develop and maintain safe, clean, aesthetic learning environments
- Oversee childcare for Family Ministries and all-church events as directed including, but not limited to, productions, annual meetings, Ministry seminars, Christmas Eve, etc.
- Responsible for check-in procedures and tracking weekly attendance
- Meets regularly with the Location Pastor to discuss ministry strategy and effectiveness
- Oversee all programming and ministry for children ages birth – 8th grade, including Sunday mornings, summer programming, special events, etc.
- Prepare curriculum for each age level
- Create environments, activities, and programming for each age group that will facilitate learning and encourage spiritual growth
- Recruit, train, schedule, and lead teams of volunteers
- Provide care for children and families within the church including hospital visits and follow-up
- Maintain a strategy for reaching and assimilating new children and families
- Plan and oversee Kid’s Quest special events
Qualifications
- BA or BS degree required
- Able to recruit and develop teams to fulfill the mission of MBC
- Passion for serving the church
Working conditions
- The Director of Kid’s Quest position requires great flexibility in hours available for work, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
