We're looking for a full-time Youth & Young Adults Pastor to provide pastoral leadership and oversight for our Grade 6–12 students and Young Adults (18–25) at our Toronto Campus.
In this role, you'll work closely with the Campus Pastor and volunteer leaders to strengthen discipleship, develop healthy leadership pathways and build thriving Youth and Young Adults ministries. Through pastoral care, leadership development and strategic ministry oversight, you'll help shape a generation that lives out the mission and values of Hillsong Church.
If your application is successful, your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Youth & Young Adults Leadership
- Provide overall leadership and oversight for the Youth and Young Adults ministries.
- Champion the vision,cultureand values of Hillsong Church across all youth environments.
- Build healthy,engagingand life-giving ministries where young people can grow in their faith.
- Lead and develop volunteer leaders, creating clear leadership pathways and opportunities for growth.
- Responsible for conducting aspects ofYouth and Young Adults ministry,church services (as rostered) and otherevents hosted by Hillsong.
- Foster a culture where young people feel known, valued and empowered to become lifelong followers of Jesus.
- Uphold Safe Church standards, ensuring all interactions and programs reflect integrity and care.
Discipleship & SpiritualGrowth
- Develop discipleship pathways that help students and young adults grow in their relationship with Christ.
- Strengthen initiatives such as Youth Discipleship Groups (YDGs), new-to-faithpathwaysand leadership development opportunities.
- Equip and coach leaders to disciple,mentorand pastor young people effectively.
- Create environments where students and young adults can build authentic friendships, discoverpurposeand belong incommunity.
- Teach,encourageand model biblical discipleship through leadership and example.
Pastoral Care & Community
- Provide pastoral care and spiritual support for students, young adults,volunteersand their families.
- Build strong relationships with parents as partners in the spiritual development of their young people.
- Serve as a primary pastoral contact for all involved inYouth and Young Adults ministry, and respondto pastoral care needs with wisdom,compassionandappropriate support.
- Foster a healthy ministry culture where wellbeing, belonging and authentic relationships areprioritized.
- Facilitate pastoral support for life events, including relationships, trauma, hospital visits,funeralsand home visitations.
Leadership Development & Volunteer Engagement
- Recruit, equip and develop volunteer leaders across Youth and Young Adults.
- Create opportunities for emerging leaders to discover andgrow intheir gifts.
- Provide coaching,encouragementand regular leadership development.
- Build collaborative, faith-filled teams that serve with excellence and joy.
- Celebrate and invest in volunteers, helping them flourish personally and spiritually.
Ministry Operations &Administration
- Overseestudent care systems,ministry planning, communication and administration, including Planning Center and pastoral records.
- Ensure ministry activities, events and gatherings areorganizedand delivered with excellence.
- Work collaboratively with Campus Leadership and other ministry teams to strengthen the overall health of the church.
- Contribute to weekend services, leadership initiatives and broader campus life asrequired.
- Monitor ministry health andidentifyopportunities for continued growth and innovation.
Campus Support
- Support campus-wide initiatives,eventsand leadership development efforts.
- Provide pastoral leadership beyond youthassistingwith congregation-wide needs asrequired.
- Collaborate with campus teams to strengthen unity,cultureand overall church health.
Ideally, a successful candidate will have:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Ministry, Theology, Youth Work or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading youth or youngadultsministry within a church environment.
- Proven ability to disciple, pastor and develop young people in their spiritualdevelopment.
- Experience leading and developing volunteer teams, including training,mentoringand team building.
- Strong understanding of youth culture and the ability to communicate biblical truth in relevant and engaging ways.
- Experience building healthy ministry systems,teamsand leadership pathways.
