Job Position - Pastor, Kids Ministries – East Edmond
(Position Description - part-time, salary, exempt, ministry, and at-will)

Scope of Position
The Pastor, Kids Ministries – East Edmond, shall be a passionate and energetic leader with a desire to see children and their families find and follow Jesus, helping them learn to live by faith, be a voice of hope, and be known by love. This person will lead a strong team of volunteers in shepherding the lives of kids at the East Edmond location. This position will lead, recruit, and manage the Kids ministry volunteers (birth-6th grade), as well as programs and curriculum, to serve kids on the weekends, Wednesday evenings, and at strategic events and programs throughout the year. This person will be a team player and help champion family ministry, understanding that ministering to parents and guardians is a crucial part of serving the family unit.
Organizational Relationship
This position will report to the Location Pastor, East Edmond. This position interfaces regularly with most departments/ministries and Locations throughout Crossings Community Church (Crossings or CCC), various vendors, Crossings’ partners, and volunteers to accomplish the goals and mission of Crossings at large, and even more specifically Crossings Kids and the Crossings East Edmond Location.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Leadership and Volunteerism:
- Recruit, hire, train, lead and inspire a team of staff and volunteers to deliver meaningful, intentional, and powerful experiences for kids to know the love of Jesus.
- Maintain strong interpersonal skills such as cooperative, collaborative team leadership style.
- Build a culture where volunteers and volunteerism thrive.
- Offer regular communication to volunteers that expresses appreciation, inspires and informs them.
- Meet with volunteers regularly to shepherd them well.
- Lead and develop teams of volunteers so that they are operating in their strengths and being most effective in their roles on the Crossings Kids team.
- Champion Kids Ministry:
- Advocate for kids’ ministry, keeping in mind what best serves the needs of the kids and families at East Edmond, across departments and groups at Crossings.
- Team with partner ministry areas (middle school, high school, missions, worship, etc.) to make Crossings East Edmond a cohesive community that cares for kids and families.
- Strategy, Management, Execution, and Outreach:
- Collaborate with Kids Pastors and members of the kids’ team across all locations to execute common ministry strategy and to influence the whole church to be family-friendly.
- Develop and execute strategies and methods that grow the ministry and those involved; manage resources effectively.
- Design special events to spiritually form children and families, such as Next Steps for Kids, Parent Child Dedication and outreach as well as Seasonal Events (i.e. Christmas, Easter, Summer Camps).
- Manage Kids Ministry programming for all weekend and mid-week services.
- Develop and oversee the ministry strategy (e.g. Sunday morning, special needs ministry, events)
- Grow location attendance by creating and implementing a strategy that draws families into the church through Crossings Kids ministry.
- Create a presence of Crossings Kids ministry at the East Edmond location and in the East Edmond community.
- Partners with parents and minister to the families to help in connecting what happens on the weekend with what happens at home.
- Represent Crossings and Christ well in all things:
- Assist in maintaining the highest possible ministry standards and professional ethics in accordance with the goals, Purpose Statement, and Core Values of Crossings.
- Support the leadership of Crossings, contributing to the spirit of unity among the staff and congregation.
- Represent Crossings in civic and ministry-related efforts as approved.
- Perform any other duties or tasks to accomplish responsibilities associated with this position or as may be needed or assigned to fulfill the needs, mission and goals of Crossings’ ministries.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Exhibit a passion to walk with people in their faith development.
- Be a proven and effective leader in the areas of responsibility attached to this position.
- A multi-tasking team player with high energy, strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
- Possess a current unrestricted driver’s license.
Physical & Other Requirements for Position
- Be able to walk a long distance (up to a quarter of a mile); and be able to lift and carry 25-35-pound parcels for distances of up to 500 feet.
- Able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Possess a current unrestricted driver's license.
- This is a safety sensitive position where the employee holding this position has the responsibility of his/her own safety and the safety of others including minors.

Education and Experience
- Shall possess an undergraduate degree, at a minimum
- Experience in campus ministry, leadership development and staff management
- Attends Crossings on a consistent basis to understand culture, mission and vision
