JOB SUMMARY
The Fishers Youth Pastor / Director oversees all youth ministry activities, relationships, youth discipleship, and youth volunteer teams at Traders Point West. This will require a self-driven, collaborative, and team mentality, someone who is devoted to learning, someone who has a passion for youth and their families, and a willingness to be a part of the big picture of what Traders Point Youth is doing in a multisite context.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position will oversee all volunteer group leaders, experience team members, and youth team members at the Fishers campus.
- This position will oversee any ministry partners who can join the Fishers team, and has an opportunity to mentor a leadership resident if desired.
DUTIES/PRIMARY JOB PRODUCTS
Fishers Youth – 50%
- Identify and recruit leaders to serve in Traders Point Youth for the campus
- Encourage, mentor, train, develop, and provide guidance to Traders Point Youth team members by:
- Maintaining regular contact with them by email, phone, and 1:1 meetings
- Equipping them with resources to connect and lead their small groups effectively
- Providing feedback and coaching, as well as proactively engaging in conflict management scenarios for the sake of a healthy team
- Build bridges and connections with Downtown parents that help them understand their role as the spiritual champion in their students' lives
- Execute youth ministry programming at the campus on Wednesday nights
- Connect youth to serving opportunities at Carmel campus and beyond the walls
- Respond pastorally to rising short-term and long-term needs of parents and students within the local community
- Build meaningful connections with schools in the community
- Perform other duties as required.
Youth Central – 30%
- Create and contribute to the content and programming teams for weekly Wednesday nights for Traders Point Youth (script writing, group content)
- Contribute to the content, programming, and experience for Youth Nights
- Attend Youth team meetings as required
Fishers Campus Pastoral Staff – 20%
- Attend campus meetings as required
- Serve and participate in pastoral aspects of Downtown campus life – baptisms, funerals, serving at Easter / Christmas, community days

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Strong, collaborative team-building, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with people from different backgrounds, ages, languages, and cultures
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once while staying focused on the people
- Experience and demonstrated understanding of youth culture
- Good time management

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required, field of study in youth ministry, education, child development, or social work preferred
- 2+ years of experience in youth ministry, leading volunteer teams, and youth programming preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENTS
- Weekly set-up and tear down of youth environments at Carmel campus
- Outdoor events in the summertime
- Summer camps (middle school and high school)
- Youth missions trips
