The Sloan Creek Connections Pastor keeps a constant focus on inspiring the “next step” for any and all individuals and families that attend Chase Oaks Sloan Creek. They do this by overseeing and leading the ministry teams in the following areas: New Guests, Weekend Experience, and Care. They also play a pivotal role in supporting Groups and Outreach Ministries.
They work to train, encourage, and support the leaders of those teams while collaborating with Chase Oaks staff and other campuses to keep us effective, integrated, and prepared to reach and serve more people well. They are a key part in leadership development and have opportunities to occasionally host weekend services.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership Support and Development
The Connections Pastor will offer support and training to the team leaders we currently have in New Guests, Weekend Experience, Groups, and Care. This entails training, communication, planning, encouragement, and working together to serve our campus well. They engage and develop new leaders so we can be prepared to increase the scope and size of impact in our community.
Organization and Planning
The Connections Pastor helps shape the plans for each ministry, working through teams to effectively execute those plans in a way that fits our DNA and is integrated with all of Chase Oaks. This involves strategic planning, operations, process, team building, and quality management.
Integration and Communication with all Campus Teams
While we are a unique campus, we strive to be unified and leverage the benefits of being part of a multi-site church. This means staying in step with and helping other campuses, making sure our leaders connect with to their counterparts at other campuses, and regularly communicating with other Chase Oaks staff and teams, etc. We want to stay in sync with all of Chase Oaks and benefit from learnings and efficiencies while contextualizing ministry for our particular community.
Upfront Leadership at Campus
The Connections Pastor has regular weekend responsibilities in the service (host space), during the service (New Guests, Lobby Activities, Groups, etc.) which include speaking, trainings, baptisms, etc. This person needs to be friendly and approachable.
ESSENTIAL MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sloan Creek Campus
Provide a physical presence during weekend services and Sloan Creek Campus events, serving and connecting with team members, parents, and kids.
Participate in campus meetings and Core Team meetings and assist the SC Campus Pastor in providing overall direction for the campus.
Leadership on Campus
As one of a few pastors on the campus, the SC Connections Pastor has regular weekend responsibilities in the service (host space) that include speaking, trainings, baptisms, etc.
CHASE OAKS STAFF PASTOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Commit to doing ministry as a team; develop interdependence among team members, and be authentic with team members.
Commit to participate in the core functions of Chase Oaks Church.
Participate in and take responsibility for the execution of the Ministry Team planning process.
Consistently model a life of bridge-building.
Participate in Pastor-of-the-Day (POD) calls and Pastor-of-the-Weekend (POW) calls.
Be available to perform sacerdotal functions (weddings, funerals, communion, and baptisms).
Regularly attend and participate in staff and pastoral meetings and/or leadership development opportunities.
Be available to assist other ministries and pastors with projects or by handling specific assignments.
Pursue an active, growing relationship with Christ.
Qualifications JOB PROFILE:

Leader of Self. Has proven character that is respected by peers and by Chase Oakers. Practices spiritual rhythms that helps them connect with God and others consistently.
Pastor. Has a heart for people and the ability to have teams, systems, and personal space to care for people. Understands the story of the Bible, the power of the Gospel, and can communicate it clearly.
Carrier of Chase Oaks DNA. Lives in a way that is consistent with the vision, DNA, and doctrine of Chase Oaks.
Effective Communicator. Requires approachability and the ability to communicate in all three realms (one-on-one, groups, and upfront) with Students and Adults.
Team Builder. Requires team building abilities to invest in volunteer leaders, staff, and Students to set them up for success.
Quality Manager. Understands their campus, develops plans, creates process and efficiencies so ministries run well and people are cared for. This entails administration and being a solution specialist.
Owner. Requires the ability to multi-task and work independently in carrying out assignments to completion.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE DESIRED
Education: Minimum of a college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The role may supervise any potential Resident or Intern.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone. The ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries regarding the Chase Oaks ministry environment is also required. High attention to customer service.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook calendaring, and email
Basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Data entry skill & experience; Familiarity with databases
