Objective
The Director of IT Operations provides visionary leadership and strategic direction for the church’s information technology, security, data science and operational support functions. This role is responsible for developing and implementing innovative technology solutions to meet the church’s current and future needs, managing teams and overseeing day-to-day IT operations including help desk support. The position ensures the integration of advanced technical infrastructure while also fostering a data-driven culture to inform ministry decisions. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role requires both technical expertise and strong leadership to align technology and operations with the overall mission of the church.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the IT ministry, including help desk support, network infrastructure, system administration and IT support services
- Oversee and coach IT support staff; manage service level agreements and ensure high-quality technical assistance delivery
- Manage the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, uptime, scalability and cybersecurity
- Monitor system performance and efficiency; recommend and implement hardware and software upgrades as needed
- Implement and enforce robust security protocols, including firewall and networking technologies, SSO configurations and SD WAN, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2, NIST)
- Conduct data analysis and stay informed on technological advancements to support continuous improvement and strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with church, ministry and regional campus leaders to implement IT solutions that align with overall mission and operational goals
- Manage IT budget, vendor relationships, procurement processesand contractual obligations with business partners

Education and Experience
- Over five years in technology roles, with at least three years managing cross-functional teams and complex projects
- Proven expertise in data analysis, budgeting and church or organizational operations is a plus
- In-depth,hands-on knowledge of IT infrastructure, including firewall and networking technologies,SDWAN, Single Sign-On (SSO) configurations, enterprise systems and cloud-based SaaS applications
- Experience managing technical support operations, training and coaching and implementing scalable technology and security solutions
- Professional certifications are a plus
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work may vary based on church needs.
The church has several big events, (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of Eleven22. These events are mandatory for all staff to be in attendance and may vary, depending on the vision cast for the current year.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
Ministerial Exception
The ministerial exception furthers the purposes of the Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses of the First Amendment by barring legal claims against church bodies by staff members who perform religious functions. All church pastors are subject to the exception, but a formal ministerial credential is not required. While there is no rigid formula to determine other church staff members that qualify, various factors are considered to determine which staff members are subject to the ministerial exception (please see handbook).
