General Description
The Southall Kids Director will be responsible for creating, overseeing, and improving all area’s of Southall Kids. This role requires a passion for the mission of Kids Ministry, but more importantly, a desire to equip parents as the primary disciple-er of their home.
Essential Job Functions
- Create and execute the vision for Southall Kids Ministry, including:
- Leadership of Southall Kids Staff
- Build and guard culture with key volunteers (Volunteer Staff, Coaches, Coordinators, etc.)
- Partnership with parents to equip them to be the primary disciplers of their children
- Maintain a fun, clean, and safe environment for all kids
- Recruit, develop, and care for all Kids Ministry volunteers.
- Oversight of all Southall Kids areas including, 4th/5th Grade, Elementary, Early Childhood, and PreK classrooms
- Maintain and build organizational processes and systems (volunteer assimilation and training, check-in & follow-up, summer intern program, child dedications and baptism, childcare system for church events, etc.)
- Plan, prepare, and direct an annual VBS that is centered on the Gospel while also attracting and retaining families to Southall Church.
- Ownership and quality control of Southall Kids Online (YouTube, Social Media, Parent communication emails).
- Implement children’s registrations, classroom management, and security policies/practices in support of all services and special events.
- Oversee the curriculum process.
- Manage the Southall Kids Ministry budget.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- A mature Christian character and a growing personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
- This position prefers a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a children’s ministry Director or Pastor role.
- Demonstrates commitment to Southall Church’s tenets of faith and cultural values.
Leadership Skills and Experience

- Spiritual Integrity – Someone who exhibits a personal and growing relationship with God building on a foundation of the Word and prayer. Someone who is pursuing God, listening to the Spirit, experiencing spiritual transformation and consistently moving toward Christ-like character.
- Leadership Intuition – Someone with strong leadership instincts when it comes to building teams, developing others, making tough calls, moving towards conflict, recognizing misalignment, creating solutions, etc.
